About Us

Senior Compass is the brainchild of Dr. Chip and Barbara Zimmer. The Zimmer's formed the Zimmer Marketing Group in 1998 in an effort to help to improve conditions for seniors. Since then, they have worked with dozens of retirement communities throughout the nation and have seen first hand the challenges that seniors and their families face when an "event" occurs creating a need for assistance.

Dr. Zimmer received his Ph.D. in marketing and business management from the University of Maryland with B.S. and M.S. degrees from West Virginia University.  He has worked with hundreds of retirement communities helping them to improve their services and offerings to residents, potential residents and their families.

 

Mrs. Zimmer received her B.S. and M.S. degrees from WVU. Her expertise is in the growing of relationships between providers of services and the seniors and baby boomers.  She's conducted extensive research in finding out what is really important to each generation and helps to communicate that to service providers. 

 

 

 Director of Marketing, Lynn Durham brings more than a dozen years of marketing expertise to Senior Compass.  She has served as a marketing director for a Continuing Care Retirement Community and has an extensive background in customer service, marketing, sales and management.  She is a graduate of High Point University with a B.S. in Marketing.

Also joining the Senior Compass Team is Jack Deuterman who manages the IT portion of SC and manages the Piedmont Triad Edition. He holds a B.A. degree in Experimental Psychology from Northwestern University and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from George Williams College. He has served as the president of the North Carolina Chapter of the American Marketing Association.

Walt Atkins brings 25+ years of work in the print industry to the team, having received degrees from the University of Maryland and University of North Carolina.

Diana Autenreith serves as the National Sales Manager. She has over 20 year of sales and marketing experience in an assorted variety of industries: Radio, Newspaper, Informational Realstate Guide (new home buyers), Business Owner (service industries). She’s also worked in the Trade Show Industry, coordinating trade shows for Promotional Product Company and Selling Trade Show Displays

 

Nancy Conroy is the graphic design specialist. With more than 20 years marketing/graphic design experience and a background as Marketing Coordinator for 36 Pizza Huts restaurants, Media Sales for newspapers, and Operations Manager for a marketing/advertising agency, Nancy brings the unique combination of marketing knowledge and graphic arts ability to Senior Compass. Customer Service is always her first priority, looking at all projects through the customer’s eyes.
